There's something special about this time of year.

As summer begins to give way to fall, Jewish people around the world are preparing for one of the most sacred seasons on the biblical calendar—a season of reflection, repentance, gratitude, and ultimately, great joy.

One of the most joyful celebrations is Sukkot, the biblical Feast of Tabernacles. For thousands of years, Jewish families have celebrated this holiday by building a sukkah—a fragile, temporary shelter—and remembering how God protected and provided for the Israelites as they journeyed through the desert.

But Sukkot is about much more than remembering the past. It reminds us of a truth we all need today: Our security does not come from the walls around us, but from the God who shelters us.
